Artist Bio
I got my jump-start in finding my direction in life ever since grade 8, when I was kicked out of instrumental music and placed in an alternate class- “Art for the musically inept”, and I’ve been growing as a visual artist ever since, with a BFA through Queen’s and a diploma and working as a graphic designer for the last 30+ years. I was one of the first resident artists at The Tett Center for Creativity and Learning for three years. I’m on the board of a Kingston organization of professional women Artists (OKWA), and enjoy teaching handbuilding workshops with ceramic clay and air dried paper clay.
Artist Statement
I hope a sense of peace and timelessness is found in my sculptural work, where ideas flow through the carved lines and images. I use the permanence of sculpture to slow down, find meaning and perhaps find a way to hold onto thoughts and emotions that are otherwise often too fleeting.
