Biography

Artist – Singer/Songwriter

Grandfathers from both my parents passed before I had a chance to meet them yet each provided a little genetic artistic thread that I’ve embraced. Since retiring to the Gananoque area in 2014, I’ve explored painting from my Mom’s side and music from Dad’s.

On the painting side, my objective is to present an interpretation of natural settings that put the viewer in a relaxed, contemplative mood. I’ve lived in the west, wandered the Rockies and Pacific coast, driven the prairie, the east coast and currently embrace life in shield country to help emotionally connect to my work.

I’ve learned to capitalize on the forgiveness of acrylic paints although in a very watery blend of colours. When the brushes cooperate, then these chosen moments can be shared with the viewer.

I’m excited again to be part of the talented group of artists displaying at the VAGA gallery in Gananoque.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I dabbled with the guitar as a youth and decided to take it a little more seriously a few years ago. Interpreting songs and writing my own pieces is an expression I love to share. If you’re hanging around this area, you may hear me in some local restaurants or pubs, playing my tunes.
