About the Artist

I started painting in 2010, when a friend suggested I should take an art class with her. I was going through chemotherapy at the time, and I needed something to fill the empty hours. I didn’t learn a lot in that class, but I got the bug and rarely does a day go by when I’m not painting.

My formal education is as a Nurse (Oncology), but in the past 7 years I’ve spent over 700 hours in art classes and workshops. Inspiration for my work is everywhere, and I notice details and beauty in the ordinary and routine. After painting landscapes for a few years, I tried abstracts and discovered they’re the most difficult type of painting I’ve ever done. I continue to paint landscapes, but I have added abstracts and now charcoal paintings which I finish with acrylic paint.
